IITs now turn more to alumni for funding

With insufficient govt funding, institutes are setting up alumni development offices, forming alumni boards to reach out. From setting up alumni development offices in India and abroad and forming teams and alumni boards with outside professionals to advising on fundraising to launching pro-active alumni outreach activities, IITs are going all out to attract their wellplaced former students to give back to their alma mater.
